A valid trail permit is mandatory to ride on the FCMQ snowmobile trail network. Three different types of permits are available for the public, plus a specific permit for snowmobiles used by rental companies.
Permit prices for the 2009-2010 season
The trail permit prices include the cost of the mandatory liability insurance under the terms of article 19 of the Act respecting off-highway vehicles, as well as the applicable taxes.
$ 235 for an annual trail permit purchased on or before Dec. 9, 2009
$ 285 for an annual trail permit purchased after Dec. 9, 2009
$ 350 for an annual trail permit purchased on the trail*
$ 150 for an annual trail permit for antique snowmobiles (1990 models & older snowmobiles)
$ 175 for a 7-day trail permit
$ 90 for a 3-day trail permit
$ 400 for an annual trail permit for snowmobiles used by rental companies
Trail permits are available from local clubs and dealers. You can also purchase them from your snowmobile dealer and at many restaurants and lodging places located near the trail network.

As you must know, most of the revenue from your permit goes directly to your club. So if you buy where you ride, your money improves the trails you ride most often.
